Eternity

Here,
among the swaying palms,
I found you.
You gazed upon
oceans of delight
and seas of wonder.
Here,
among the palm fronds,
I looked upon eternity
and saw your face.
The ocean lapped against the shore.
The waves cried for surrender.
And so I dove
into your deep, dark pool
and resurfaced
to the whispering of the sea.
